Armed with one 35mm camera and two lenses, James Thompson set out on his photography career in 1973. Since then he has made a name for himself in the professional community as a photographer who specializes in working with people,
Photographing Weddings and Beach Portraits on Amelia Island Florida.
James maintains his own approach to wedding photography by blending a well-balanced mixture of traditional and photo-journalistic styles of photography.
“Photography should be fun, and when it’s fun the photos will reflect it”.
James started the business of Thompson Wedding Photography on Amelia Island in 1989. For him the career of photography is a unique career because it’s fun and it makes people happy. Reflecting on his career of photography and operating the business for over 17 years now, James still has the passion for his photography and working with people. Moving into the field of digital photography has really inspired his love for the Art and Craft. James can now create a more modern artistic view to his photographs through the state of the art of digital photography.
He is now passing on his knowledge and skills to his son James Stephen, who is working with his Father in the business. They both put part of themselves into their work-and that’s what makes them artist in the truest sense of the word.
